Nate Winter is a 29 year old man who began working for the Wichita Fire Department after graduating from Kansas State University in 2006. In 2009, he was diagnosed with a stage IV inoperable brain tumor. He currently is unable to work due to seizure activity.

After receiving extensive treatment in over four major cities, Nate has seen some successes and some setbacks. The current chemotherapy has suppressed the growth of the tumor, but is not a cure and cannot be continued.

Nate has been accepted to participate in a very strictly controlled treatment monitored by the FDA. This treatment has proven to be successful in many cases. However, these treatments are not covered by Nate's insurance.

Nate's friends and family have established the Nathan Winter Life Fund. Although total treatment expenses will be $80,000-$100,000, our immediate goal is $25,000 by November 1, 2011 to start Nate's treatment.
